The local scientist isn't stupid. As he accompanies us he works out the real reason we are here. But national pride means foreigners cannot make such an important discovery. And without Icelandic cooperation we cannot get to Sneffels in time for the end of July.

So here we are, sitting at the docks, waiting for a boart to take us home. It looks like THE END of our adventure. Or should we defy the authorities? Should we find a local guide and race to the volcano before anybody can stop us? Or should we do something else?
